Mark from Tiffen shows me two of the Listec teleprompter systems that were being shown at WPPI 2013. Mark and I take a look at a teleprompter for smaller setups using mobile devices for iPhone or Android and a more robust teleprompter for iPad and tablet use.
The Listec PromptWare PW-04 is a 4.0″ teleprompter that attaches to your DSLR or small video camera via one of the 5 included lens adapter rings. This teleprompter can be used handheld or can be clamped to a table or mounted on a tripod and operated remotely. The kit comes with the prompter, 9 adapter rings, software and a hard ABS case.
The Listec PW-10 Telepromter for iPad and Tablet Devices fits iPad and popular tablets from 6.2″ (157mm) to 7.5″ (190mm). This teleprompter comes with a Wireless QWERTY Keyboard Controller – operation range up to 40 ft. (12.2m), has a lens opening of 4.9″ x 4.3″ (124.9mm x 109.8mm) and weighs 4.4lbs (2kg).
Both teleprompters allow you to type your stories directly into the PromptWare Plus software or via email by cutting and pasting. You can also use iTunes file sharing (.TXF files), have Speed Controls to adjust the speed of your Prompting Script with the menu driven settings (this will be a set speed) or use the custom wireless remote that gives you full control of your scrolling speeds/pause with its easy to use keyboard. Store multiple scripts and feature continuous loop for multiple takes.
